It's not only the Afterlee students who get to exhibit their artwork, at present the Roxy Gallery, Kyogle is presenting an exhibition entitled 'Once in a Blue Moon'. It showcases the works of eight local artists including several related to Afterlee
Public School. Works are by Jenny Kitchener our temporary teacher, Wendy Carter our School Administration Manager, Rodney Brown ex-teacher at Afterlee, Lee-Anne Nolan (wife of temporary teacher Greg Nolan) and Principal Deborah Brown.
It's 'Once in a Blue Moon' that friends get the opportunity (and time) to share an artspace and exhibit their work. The styles and media used are as varied as the artists themselves and include paintings, printmaking, photography, drawing, pottery and fabric dying. It's no wonder the Afterlee students have developed such a love and appreciation for the visual arts.
The exhibition runs until 23 October 2010.
